Marion Co. Coroner’s Office rules woman’s body found on Troy Bridge a homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Marion County Coroner’s Officer said the woman’s body who was found on Troy Avenue Bridge in June was murdered.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office said the victim, Jeanie Howard died of chop wounds to the head. They said it was a combined sharp and blunt force trauma.

IMPD began investigating the body found on the southeast side of Indianapolis Friday, July 24.

Police said the victim’s body was found on Troy Avenue bridge near Senour Road and Kitley Road around 12:45 a.m.

Those that live near creek were surprised to learn about the shocking discovery.

“I was just surprised, I didn’t know what to think, this is such a nice area and a nice neighborhood, we moved here in October,” said Resident Tim Latimer.
