One killed, two injured in three separate shootings Wednesday night

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was killed and two other people were injured in three separate shootings Wednesday night, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials.

The first shooting happened in the 2100 block of Emerson Knoll Place just after 7:30 p.m. The victim, a male in his mid-twenties was transported to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital, where he died.

Minutes later, IMPD was called to the 3000 block of North Colorado Avenue, a short distance from the first shooting. Officers located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. At this time, it is unclear if the shootings are related.

Shortly before 10 p.m. IMPD responded to a call of a person shot in the 2900 block of East 38th St. At that location a person was shot in the hand, although the injuries suffered did not appear to be serious. Police do not believe that shooting is related to the other ones that occurred earlier in the evening.
