INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police say a man was arrested with a loaded AR-15, heroin and cash after fleeing a traffic stop Monday.

Leondre Woodson, 31, abruptly pulled in front of a marked Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department vehicle heading east in the 3400 block of East 38th Street around 10:30 p.m., according to police.

When officers tried to pull Woodson over, he jumped out and fled on foot. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit involving a K-9 unit.

Police say they found a Smith and Wesson M&P15 5.56 mm rifle loaded with a 30-round magazine and one bullet in the chamber. Heroin weighing 4.08 grams and $263 in cash were also recovered.

Woodson faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of heroin and operating a vehicle that’s never received a license. He also has a parole violation, according to police.
