After audio glitch, volleyball team surprises crowd with a cappella national anthem

TOWER CITY, Pa. (WHTM) – A high school volleyball game that started with a glitch turned into a display of patriotism.

Jim Thorpe Area High School’s girls’ volleyball team played at Williams Valley High School in Tower City on Saturday. When the pre-recorded National Anthem would not play before the game, the young women on the Williams Valley team surprised the crowd by singing the Anthem a cappella .

Fans, family members and players from both teams say they are proud of the team’s patriotic spirit.
