3 dead, 2 hurt in downtown Fort Wayne bar shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police are investigating a shooting at a bar early Tuesday morning that has left three men dead. Officers were called just before 2:30 a.m. to Sports and Spirits at 1723 East Wayne Street.

When officers arrived, they found several people inside and outside the bar, according to Public Information Officer John Chambers. People were cleared out of the building as officers and paramedics found the victims.

Paramedics gave them medical attention, but a short time later the men were pronounced dead. Two other people were taken privately to a hospital and are in good condition.

Witnesses told police they heard gunshots inside the bar and saw a person running from the scene. Investigators are working to collect more information from witnesses.

Police dont have any suspect information and no arrests have been made. The Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroners Office and Prosecutors Office are continuing to investigate.

South Anthony Boulevard is closed between East Washington Boulevard and East Berry Street as police investigate. East Wayne is also closed between Howard and Grant avenues. Officers were also stationed at the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery across the street.
