Crews respond to west side residence fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Emergency crews responded to a residence fire on the city’s west side Monday evening.

According to the Wayne Township Fire Department, the fire occurred at a home in the 400 block of Hardin Boulevard just before 9:30 p.m.

After arriving on scene, crews spotted the garage attached fully involved with fire.  The fire had also spread to a vehicle that and was starting to threaten a neighboring home.

Crews were able to get the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Four individuals were home at the time of the fire and one was checked out on the scene.  They were later released.  A dog was also rescued during the fire and is said to be in good condition.

Damage has been estimated at $30,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
