INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis woman is facing charges after police say she left two kids inside a car in 88 degree heat.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Amanda Hypes went into a doctor’s office for an appointment, leaving a 4-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl in a vehicle.

A woman leaving the office saw the boy running away from the car covered in sweat and crying. She looked in the car and also noticed the baby strapped into a carseat.

Court documents show the kids had been inside the vehicle for 35 minutes to an hour.

Hypes is facing two counts of child neglect. She’s due in court next month.
