One arrested in connection to deadly shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One man has been arrested in connection to a fatal September shooting.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 23-year-old Ricky Davis was apprehended by the U.S. Marshall’s Liason Unit on Sept. 16.

Davis was arrested for the September 3 death of 44-year-old Gary Rees.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, police responded to the 4100 block of Tahoe Court.  After arriving on scene, police discovered Rees unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound, he was then pronounced dead on scene.

Originally, the fatal shooting of Rees was thought to have been gang related.  However, police have since said that there appears not to any gang involvement.

Davis faces a preliminary charge of murder.
