Carey Road at 136th Street and Hawthorne Drive temporarily closed for 45 days
CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – The Carey Road roundabouts at 136th Street and Hawthorne Drive will be temporarily closed for 45-days beginning on Monday.
These intersections will be reconstructed to reduce the long-term impact on Carmel residents. These projects are part of the Carmel Link 2.0 projects that the Carmel City Council approved.
Carey Road and 136th Street will be reconstructed to a single lane roundabout. The thru traffic is being detoured along 146th Street and Gray Road.
Carey Road and Hawthorne Drive will also be reconstructed to a single lane roundabout. The detour route is 146th Street and Keystone Avenue.
The Carmel Link 2.0 is an improvement program that results in the completion of new roundabout intersections along the following roads:
- Gray Road
- 96th Street
- Range Line Road
- 116th Street
- Guilford Road
- Pennsylvania Street
- Spring Mill Road
- Towne Road
- Keystone Parkway
The project will also upgrade a large section of Range Line Road over the next three years.
