KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Indiana State Police released Tuesday morning that the former Director of the Knox County Solid Waste District was arrested for several charges of theft.

The investigation began in October of 2015 when board members reported missing funds from the Knox County Solid Waste District accounts.

At that time Tracy Clinkenbeard, 51 of Vincennes, was the director and responsible for all financial matters for the accounts. After an audit was done by the Indiana State Board of Accounts, officials report more than $100,000 had been embezzled between 2010 and 2015.

Clinkenbeard was arrested on Monday and taken to the Knox County Jail on $15,000 bond, cash only.
