Amber goes behind the scenes at Hoosier Park and meets some of the equine athletes

Personality can make all the difference! As we gear up for Grand Circuit Racing this weekend at Hoosier Park, we chat with Emily Gaskin about some of the horses who might be competing and what their “kind eyes” might say about their overall demeanor!Here are a few of the highlights for this weekend:

Grand Circuit racing action will make its way to Hoosier Park for the second time this season on Saturday, September 24 and with it, bring the top rated horses in North America to Hoosier Park as they convene on the seven-eighths mile oval in search of the lucrative purses offered on the card beginning at 5:15 p.m. Hoosier Park will host a standout card that includes the $210,000 Centaur Trotting Classic, the $250,000 Kentuckiana Stallion Management Stakes, the $150,00 Elevation Pace and the $100,000 Jenna’s Beach Boy Invitational Pace.

Millionairess and World Champion, Hannelore Hanover will make her return to her home state to headline the entrants in the $210,000 Centaur Trotting Classic.  The four-year-old Indiana-bred daughter of Swan for All has recently taken the harness racing world by storm after winning 14 of 16 starts this season and her seasonal purse earnings approaching the $800,000 mark. Trained by Hoosier Park’s leading trainer, Ron Burke, Hannelore Hanover will look to score her 15th win of the season as they only mare in the field.

WISH-TV celebrities will compete in the Celebrity race. Racing begins at 5pm and admission is always free. If you cannot come to the track, WISH-TV will have a live special from 8pm to 10pm hosted by Anthony Calhoun. Hoosier Park is just minutes north of Indy off I-69 in Anderson.
