Committee to discuss immigration issues in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana lawmakers and policy experts will discuss immigration issues at the Statehouse Wednesday. The Senate Select Committee on Immigration Issues is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m.

The committee will hear testimony regarding the impact people who are in the state illegally have on Indiana’s workforce, and whether the workers are paid below-market wages. Members of the public are welcome to attend and speak.

Republican State Senator Mike Delph is leading the meeting. Delph said he encourages naturalized citizens to come and share their story of how they legally became citizens.

The meeting will be in room 431 of the Indiana Statehouse. All meetings of the Senate Select Committee on Immigration Issues are streamed live here.
