2 hurt after single-vehicle crash in Bartholomew County

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a crash in Bartholomew County Wednesday morning.

It happened just before 10 a.m. in the 8000 block of East County Road 475 South.

A truck driven by 59-year-old Candy Francis of Elizabethtown was heading east when it ran off the north side of the road and hit a utility pole, according to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office. Officials did not specify was kind of truck was involved.

The pole snapped and the truck flipped more than once.

William Francis, 72, of Elizabethtown was partially pinned under the truck, and Francis was trapped inside the vehicle, officials said.

They were both pulled out and flown to an Indianapolis hospital in unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
