Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the Speedway gas station at 10th Street and Girls School Road just before 3:30 a.m.

Police said the 21-year-old clerk ran to McDonald’s after being shot, but he was unable to find help. He managed to get someone’s attention at a Taco Bell across the street from the gas station.

The man was taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives say the suspect is a black man around 5 feet 10 inches tall, around 230 pounds and with facial hair. He was wearing a black hat and black sweatshirt at the time of the shooting.

He’s considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location should call 911.
