Daughter of former IU football coach killed in car crash

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A woman is dead after her car was struck by a 2003 Prevost Bus.

Authorities said that 45-year-old Allison Hoeppner was pronounced deceased on the scene when her 2003 Subaru Forester was struck by 43-year-old Johnathan Brewer after he allegedly failed to stop at a traffic light.

Hoeppner is the daughter of former Indiana University football Head Coach, Terry Hoeppner.

The accident happened at the intersection of South State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 around 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning.

The investigation determined that Hoeppner had the right of way.

Johnathan Brewer was later transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a blood draw, although there were no indications of impairment.

Following the news of Allison Heoppner’s passing current IU football coach Kevin Wilson released the following statement:

We are shocked and saddened by this terrible tragedy. The Hoeppners mean a great deal, not only to me and my family, but to the entire IU Football family. Our thoughts are prayers are with Jane and the Hoeppner family.
