Motorcyclist killed in south side accident

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on the city’s south side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened in the 7300 block of South Meridian Street just after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the motorcyclist was exiting a parking lot and attempting to turn north on Meridian Street when a collision happened. The motorcyclist, unable to stop in time was thrown from the vehicle.

After arriving on scene, police discovered the driver of the motorcycle, later identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Johnson of Indianapolis, was critically injured.

He was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
