Purdue police investigate armed robbery near campus

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Purdue police are looking for three men involved in an armed robbery outside of Purdue University’s Hawkins Hall on Wood Street.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, a call came in to Purdue police for a report of an armed robbery in the 400 block of West Wood Street. Four Purdue students told police three men wearing bandanas and hooded sweatshirts approached them and displayed at least 2 handguns.

The victims were ordered to stand against the wall of the building. Police said the subjects took the victims’ wallets, phones and backpacks.

No one was injured.

After the incident, the subjects fled toward the Purdue Memorial Union.
