Vehicle plunges into creek under I-70 in Hendricks County

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Two people were rescued after their vehicle plunged into water off I-70 in Hendricks County Monday morning.

It happened at I-70 and State Road 39 around 10:15 a.m.

The vehicle was westbound when it veered off the road and fell into water between the eastbound and westbound lanes, according to Indiana State Police.

Both occupants were taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital with non-serious injuries, state police said. Three pets inside the vehicle were uninjured.

Traffic was backed up as emergency crews responded.
