Carrier employees will receive federal benefits to assist in finding new employment

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WISH) – U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly announced Wednesday that Carrier employees in Indianapolis will receive federal benefits to assist in finding new employment trade adjustment assistance (TAA) from the Department of Labor.

According to a release, TAA will provide the workers with access to full-time training and resources to help them find new employment.

“This is welcome news for the hard-working Hoosiers forced to find new jobs because Carrier decided to ship their jobs to Mexico. With Trade Adjustment Assistance, these workers, losing their jobs through no fault of their own, will have access to the resources and training they may need to find new opportunities.”
