Colleges, universities coming together to help students affected by ITT Tech Closure

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several schools are coming together Wednesday to help students affected by the ITT Tech Closure. Ivy Tech is hosting the gathering.

The event will have financial advisers and veterans services officials available.

The event starts at 4 p.m. at Ivy Tech’s Illinois Fall Creek Center in Indianapolis located at 2535 North Capitol Avenue.

Presentations from participating schools will begin every 30 minutes.

“What an impressive amount of resources that have come together quickly to assist these former ITT students,” said Ivy Tech Community College President Sue Ellspermann. “We all have a responsibility to the state of Indiana to train and educate Hoosiers, and right now, we cannot let these students fall through the cracks. These students live and work in our communities, and as the state’s community college we are committed to reaching out and assisting them in achieving their educational goals. We are doing this in partnership with other institutions of higher education around the state to ensure these students are presented with all of their options.”

The colleges and universities attending include:

  • Ivy Tech Community College
  • Indiana Wesleyan University
  • Oakland City University
  • Harrison College
  • Indiana Tech
  • Western Governors University
  • Trine University
  • Grace College
  • Franklin University
  • Olivet Nazarene University
  • Marian University

Human resources officials from the schools will also be on hand to help ITT employees who lost their jobs.
