Wrapping up love: Lilly employees make blankets for cancer patients

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Co-workers from all over Eli Lilly participated in a worthy cause Thursday.

They prepared care packages for cancer patients at the Little Red Door Cancer Agency.

It was all a part of Lilly’s global day of service.

The biggest part of the care package is a handmade blanket.

Lilly employees put them together today.

“Some of these are very personal, that a cancer patient can use for themselves and take home, wrap themselves up in it when they’re going through their chemotherapy,” a Little Red Door employee said.

They had 200 people helping to make the blankets this morning, but they will touch the lives of 400 or 500 people with the blankets they made and rolled.

“Being in the office all the time, you kind of lose sight a little bit of why we’re doing it, so coming out here really helps,” a Eli Lilly employee said.
