Downtown outdoor music festival this weekend to benefit tornado victims

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Stage rigging, lighting and gates filled the green space of the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis Friday, setting the scene for a multi-day outdoor music festival.

The Evermore Music Festival launches Friday afternoon to showcase more than 30 musical acts over the following three days.

The event will feature three stages showcasing artists, bands and DJs of varying genres. Headliners include DJ and singer-songwriter Prismo on Friday, alternative rock bands Atlas Genius Saturday evening and Guster on Sunday.

Organizers said they partnered with the American Red Cross to donate all profits to relief efforts following tornadoes that damaged communities in Howard County.

The tornadoes touched down during the festival’s planning process in August.

Evermore co-founder Nick White said he understood most of the funds raised through the festival would stay to be used in central Indiana.

The festival is open noon to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Click here for more information.
