Man arrested for transporting marijuana disguised by yellow mustard

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A man has been arrested after police found an estimated $200,000 worth of marijuana, covered in yellow mustard.

State Troopers stopped a semi on Interstate 70 for a routine safety inspection on Thursday evening in Putnam County. That’s when the officer noticed an overwhelming smell of yellow mustard. Other indicators of possible criminal activity were also noticed.

During the search, troopers found about 48 pounds of packaged high-grade marijuana.

The driver, Richard Sherman, was arrested. He is from El Cajon, California.

Sherman was taken to the Putnam County Jail.
