Search warrant leads to two arrested for illegal alcohol sales

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two men were arrested Sunday afternoon for illegal alcohol sales.

According to Indiana State Excise Police, they received several complaints about the illegal selling of alcoholic beverages at a residence.

After receiving the complaints, an investigation was conducted and then a search warrant was obtained.  Officers executed the search warrant on a residence in the 3100 block of North Tacome Avenue around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

As a result of the search, 805 cans of various brands of beer, 418 bottles of liquor, three handguns, a shotgun, almost $5,000 in cash and an unspecified amount of marijuana was discovered.

75-year-old Mossy Ivy and 37-year-old Dwayne Ivy, were taken into custody.  Both were transported to the Marion County Jail where they face preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance, unauthorized sale of alcoholic beverages and sale of untaxed alcoholic beverages.

The case remains under investigation.
