INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Monday morning a 91-year-old woman came face to face with an intruder. Armed with a knife, the man demanded that the woman take him to her safe.
Once at the safe he grabbed the cash, pushed the victim around and then he left. IMPD only has a very vague description of the suspect; however, the victim’s family believes it may have been someone who knows the woman.
24-Hour News 8 has learned the victim owns multiple properties in the neighborhood and she has her tenants drop off their rent money at her house.
It’s believed the suspect knew that bit of information because he asked for a safe.
Since the attack, the 91-year-old’s son has been looking for information that may lead to the suspect.
The man in question did not wear a mask, or a disguise during the attack.
“I’m surprised, and I’m very angry, I hope whoever did this pays for it,” said neighbor Yolanda Cox.
Family members say they are changing several procedures to protect the victim.
