IPS providing free daily breakfast and lunch for students

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Public Schools will continue to feed its students, even when classes are not in session.

From Monday, Oct. 3 until Oct. 14, IPS will provide daily lunch at 24 schools and two satellite locations.

Seven of those sites will offer daily breakfast and lunch. Meals are free for IPS students.

It’s all part of the Schools Meal Program.

IPS said with many of its district students living at or below the poverty level and in food deserts, it understands the importance of providing nutritious meals year-round.

The following location are providing free meals:

  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 14: William Penn School – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 7: Clarence Farrington School – 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 10 – Oct. 14: Clarence Farrington School – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 14: Christian Park School – 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Oct. 4 – Oct. 14: Irvington Library Branch – 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 14: Haughville Library Branch – 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 14: Center for Inquiry School – 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 7: Emma Donnan School – 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
  • Oct. 3 – Oct. 7: Emma Donnan School – 10:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 10 – Oct. 14: Emma Donnan School – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 10 – Oct. 14: Gambold School: 7:30 a.m. – 8 a.m.
  • Oct. 10 – Oct. 14: Kendezi Academy at School – 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
