Workers preparing for Circle of Lights

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Retired electricians from IBEW local #4-81 will inspect the thousands of light bulbs for the Circle of Lights.

Workers will check 4,784 light bulbs Tuesday. They will string up the lights on Nov. 12.

Per usual, the lighting ceremony is the day after Thanksgiving.

For the first time, the retired light bulbs are now being turned into holiday ornaments. They will be on sale for $20 at Carson’s Department Store.

Organizers said proceeds will benefit the “beautification” of Downtown Indianapolis.
