DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Student drivers in Danville will be learning how to rule the road.

Several car insurance and driving safety organizations are teaming up to teach young drivers ways to stay safe on the road.

Emergency vehicle drivers will give students hands-on practice to learn additional skills, not usually covered in traditional driver’s ed classes.

Some of those include practicing:

  • Controlled skidding
  • Controlled braking
  • Dangers of texting and driving
  • Dangers of drunk driving

The event is Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Danville High School.
