BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — An Indiana University student is in custody after authorities smelled marijuana coming from a parked vehicle

Authorities recovered 34 grams of marijuana and a stolen handgun during the vehicle search.

The gun is believed to be one of the several firearms stolen from a North Vernon gun store robbery in 2014 where the owner was shot and killed.

Indiana University student Jason Nguyen was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, which is a felony.

He also faces the following misdemeanor charges: carry a handgun without a license, dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of an alcoholic beverage.
