CEO of sex trafficking site Backpage arrested in Texas
AUSTIN (WCMH) – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Thursday that officials have arrested Carl Ferrer, the CEO of Backpage.com.
The site is considered “the largest advertiser of adult escort services in the United States,” according to Paxton’s office.
Ferrer, 55, was taken into custody on a California arrest warrant. According to a press release, evidence has been uncovered that adult and child sex trafficking victims were forced into prostitution through ads that appeared on Backpage.
