Eli Lilly expanding its animal health business

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Eli Lilly taps into its animal spirits, and Chuck E. Cheese is killing its famous tokens.

Eli Lilly is expanding its animal health business.

It’s buying a unit of boehringer ingelheim that makes animal vaccines. That price tag is $885 million and the business will be added to Lilly’s growing animal business called Elanco.

In other business headlines, Chuck E. Cheese is switching from tokens to stored value cards.

As you can imagine, some Twitter users aren’t happy, calling it the end of an era.

Chuck E. Cheese is phasing out tokens because the cards will be “easier for everyone.” For example, rewards cards could make it easier for customers to keep track of their points, even if they lose their cards.
