Kokomo man dies after motorcycle crash in Logansport

LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) – A Kokomo man died Wednesday night after crashing his motorcycle in Logansport.

According to Logansport police, 27-year-old Alex Myer of Kokomo was riding on East Broadway Street about 8:30 p.m.

Police said Myer was riding behind another motorcyclist, Dalton Tabler, 22, of Logansport. As the two rode separate motorcycles down the three-lane one-way street, Myer was behind Tabler and in the middle lane. Myer tried to merge into the lane Tabler was in, bumping his front tire to Tabler’s back tire.

Myer then crashed near the intersection of East Broadway and 15th streets.

Myer was flown to Memorial Hospital of South Bend and later pronounced dead, police said. He was not wearing a helmet.

Indiana State Police’s reconstruction of the crash showed Myers was traveling faster than 50 mph. The posted speed limit where the crash occurred is 35 mph.

Tabler was not injured. Police said he did not fall off his motorcycle.
