ORLANDO, Fla. (MEDIA GENERAL) – Walt Disney World has announced it will reopen Saturday morning after closing to prepare for Hurricane Matthew.

The park closed for the fourth time in its 45-year history Thursday night, all in anticipation of major hurricanes. Previously, Disney World closed for one day prior to Hurricane Floyd in 1999, two days prior to Hurricane Frances in 2004, and one day prior to Hurricane Jeanne two weeks after Frances.

Although it did not close, the park also was evacuated during the 9/11 attacks.

Orlando, in Central Florida, has received more than four inches of rain since early Thursday afternoon and remains under a tropical storm warning until 10:30 p.m. ET Friday night.

According to a news release, the four theme parks will open at 8 a.m. Saturday.
