Man in custody following drug bust

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities have seized drugs, a handgun and over $5,000 in cash after a recent bust.

The arrest came when authorities were executing a search warrant in the 1100 block of Bates Street just before 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon on 46-year-old Brand McAlister.

McAlister was in custody after a brief struggle with officers.

Detectives discovered methamphetamine, a handgun and $5,353 after searching the residence.

He faces initial charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
