Florida Amber Alert expands to Kentucky, abductor possibly headed north

POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has a message for the suspected kidnapper of a missing 4-year-old Polk County girl: “Don’t you hurt that baby.”

An AMBER Alert has now been enacted through most of the southeast, including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky, for missing 4-year-old Rebecca Lewis.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the AMBER Alert was expanded in East Tennessee after an alleged sighting of Rebecca Lewis and 31-year-old West Wild Hogs, the man she’s believed to be with.

According to Judd, Hogs was last seen around 2:30 a.m. Monday in Nashville.

Before that, the pair was seen in the area of Cove Lake State Park, in Campbell County, Tennessee – which is near Interstate 75 close to Tennessee/Kentucky border. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says sometime between 10 to 11 p.m. Sunday night a park ranger reported seeing a man and child matching Hogs and Rebecca’s description at the park.

Law Enforcement agencies in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama are aware of the sighting and area news agencies in those states are also reporting the sighting.

Grady Judd is pleading the public to help in the search for the girl. “I’m not above a bunch of good ol’ boys grabbing that 4 year old girl,” he said.

Rebecca was last seen around 9 a.m. Saturday, when her 16-year-old sister saw her sleeping in her bed at the Lazy Dazy Retreat RV/Mobile Home on Highway 98 North. The sister fell back asleep and when she woke up at 9:45 a.m., the little girl was gone.

Investigators say she is with Hogs, who is a long-time family friend but had not seen the family in over two years. He showed up on Friday to Rebecca’s grandmother’s house, Oma Mae Lewis, in Polk City. He was asked to leave the family’s home over two years ago after pulling a gun on the family, according to Sheriff Grady Judd.

Judd says Hogs suffers from depression and bipolar disorder. Judd says it doesn’t appear Hogs is not actively running from law enforcement, but does confirm the child is in danger. It’s not clear if Hogs is armed.

After the AMBER Alert was issued, authorities saw West Hogs and Rebecca at a gas station in Forsythe, Georgia, just off of I-75 around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Surveillance images show the two together and Rebecca appears to be in good health.

West Hogs took off in his mother’s car without her permission. Investigators believe Hogs is still driving a 2012 grey Nissan Versa 4-door with Alabama handicapped plates.

Anyone who spots these individuals or the vehicle in which they may be traveling should call 911.
