Deputy saves baby from choking, becomes her godfather

 MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WCMH) – A Georgia Sheriff’s lieutenant is now the godfather of a little girl he saved from choking more than two weeks ago.

In September, Lt. Kenneth Knox was sent to a home after a report of a two-month-old girl choking. The girl’s parents attempted CPR, without any success.

When Lt. Knox arrived, he said the girl was not breathing.

Then, he said, “Lord God Almighty touched me and I knew what to do. I did reverse CPR and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again. She smiled at me for a second and then starting crying which was music to my ears.”

Knox called the rescue his ‘greatest and most profound accomplishment’ in 25 years as a cop.

Last week, Knox announced that he was asked to be the little girl’s godfather.

I am so overwhelmed at the public outpouring and support. Ma’Yavi Parham is now my God daughter which blesses me as a person and a man. i am the one who was blessed with her being brought into my life. she is a beautiful child and to know I will see her grow into a beautiful woman who can be what ever she wants. the likes, the shares , and the comments have humbled me beyond words. I have been contacted by people from many many different countries who have been so loving and caring to a point that I now this is how God created us to be….. thank you from the bottom of my heart to EVERY person who has shared and posted comments and messaged me.
