Dozens of dead snakes found on Florida road

SARASOTA, FL (WFLA) – Dozens of dead snakes were found in the road on Palmer Boulevard, a mile east of I-75, in Sarasota on Monday. Some of the snakes were completely smashed, others still mostly intact.

No one knows what is actually going on, but a passerby says he remembers the same thing happening this time last year. He says the only thing he can think of is that it’s mating season.

Many cars continued to run over the snakes while a couple stopped to check the scene out Monday.

People should be careful and look out if they plan on being near the road.
