Marion County voting machines tested

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Marion County officials tested voting equipment Tuesday morning.

Members of the Election Board were on hand to make sure the machines to be used Nov. 4 are working correctly.

The high-speed central scanner ballot reader, which counts the votes, was among the apparatus inspected.

The Marion County Clerk’s Office says it has prepared ballots with fixed results to make sure the machines come to the same results.

Officials say the voting machines cannot be hacked.

Of the roughly 1,000 machines, 50 were randomly selected for the tests.

Tuesday’s testing was open to the public.
