Charges filed against 5 teens after Burger King shootout

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Formal charges have been filed against several teenagers arrested after a shootout and robbery at a west side Burger King.

Antonio Cowherd Jr., Mikel Kendrick, Robert Kendrick, Nathan Holder and James Brownlow are charged with armed robbery in the Oct. 5 incident.

Investigators say the group held up gas stations in Indianapolis and Plainfield last Monday and Tuesday. They’re believed to be linked to nine total robberies.

On last Wednesday night, the teens allegedly attempted to rob a Burger King when a customer tried to stop them. The suspects got away after a shootout.

Police took them into custody a short time later.
