Deputies in hazmat suits remove nearly 60 dogs from home

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Deputies with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office confiscated several birds and dozens of dogs from a home in northern Tippecanoe County.

Deputies were seen going in and out of the home in the 100 block of East 800 North in hazmat suits Thursday evening.

Animal control said some of the animals are believed to be very sick.

There are estimated to be about 60 dogs, which are being taken in by Crystal Creek Kennel in Battle Ground. Kennel employees said their next step is to get a veterinarian to assess the animals and decide what to do with them from there.

There are also several birds which will be taken to Purdue to be checked for diseases. A parrot rescue team known as Wingin’ it for Max is assisting in those efforts.
