Greenfield man sentenced for burning down home last Thanksgiving

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A Greenfield man has been sentenced to four years in prison after admitting he set his home ablaze last Thanksgiving.

Dalton Rowe, 25, burned down his rental home in the 300 block of North Swope Street on Thanksgiving Day and was arrested in December.

According to 24-Hour News 8 partner The Greenfield Daily Reporter, Rowe pleaded guilty to a Level 4 count of arson and was sentenced Wednesday.

He’ll spend four years in prison and three years on probation. Half of the probation will be spent in a local work release program and the other half on home detention.

Rowe was living at the home with his girlfriend and son when the couple broke up. On Thanksgiving morning, he went to the home and later told friends he’d “just burnt his house down,” according to court records.

No one was hurt, but his girlfriend and son were left without a home.
