Huntington volleyball’s Paige Eakright stays positive while facing cancer

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – Paige Eakright is known around Huntington University’s campus for her smile. It’s that kind of positivity along with prayer that Eakright believes will help her defeat a rare form of cancer.

A Homestead graduate, Eakright is a freshman volleyball player for the Foresters. On her first day of college she was diagnosed with cervical and uterine cancer.

Despite the disease Paige says she feels fine as she continues to play volleyball for the Foresters. In fact, she tallied a team-high 28 kills this past weekend while leading Huntington to a pair of victories.

Doctors continue to run tests on Paige to determine the right course of treatment. Paige says her treatment will begin sometime in the next few months and will likely include chemotherapy.Click here to visit the Go Fund Me page set up for Paige.
