WISH-TV, Crime Stoppers teaming up for the annual Community Shred-It event

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – WISH-TV is teaming up with Crime Stoppers again for the annual Community Shred-It event on Saturday.  The event is an electronics recycling, shredding and drug disposal event.

You can drop off papers to be shredded at several locations across Central Indiana from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The five locations include:

  • 1000 North Meridian Street – Indianapolis
  • Creekside Middle School: 3525 West 126th Street – Carmel
  • Greenwood Park Mall: 1251 US Highway 31 North – Greenwood/South side
  • Speedway Police Department:: 1410 North Lynhurst Drive – Speedway/Indy west side
  • Lawrence Police Department: 9001 East 59th Street – Lawrence/Indy east side

Organizers are asking for a $5 donation per shredding box.

In addition, the following items will be accepted:

  • Peripherals
  • Wiring
  • Cable
  • Battery backups
  • Monitors
  • TVs ($10 charge per CRT/tube monitor or TV)
  • Phones
  • Stereos
  • Headsets
  • DVD players
  • Any small appliance
  • Hubs
  • Switches
  • Routers
  • Racks
  • Fax machine
  • Copiers phone systems
  • Industrial electronics
  • Test equipment
  • Medical equipment

For the prescription disposal, you are asked to bring any unused and expired medicines to help protect the environment and community.

Come say hi to the WISH-TV team. They will be at Creekside Middle School in Carmel from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the parking lot at the southeast corner of West 126th and Shelborne Road.
