Fishers Police Department officer arrested for battery

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – An officer with the Fishers Police Department was arrested in Greenwood on Saturday evening, according to police officials.

The department said Officer Charles Kingery was arrested on preliminary charges of battery. Police say Kingery and another man began arguing and the altercation turned physical. Kingery is accused of punching a man in the face.

Kingery was taken into custody and transported to the Johnson County Jail.

Kingery is currently suspended from the Fishers Police Department. He has been with the department since March 2014.
