Oct. 18, 1989 marks the date of the 27th anniversary. The night of Oct. 18 saw just a few tenths of an inch of snow, then the bulk of the snow fell on Oct. 19 before winding down early in the morning of Oct. 20.  When the system was done, Indianapolis saw 9.3 inches of snow.  Because there were still leaves on trees, there were power outages caused by downed power lines.  Kokomo saw 10.l5 inches of snow!
