Police identify driver killed in fiery I-74 crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A fiery semi crash took the life of a person Wednesday morning.

Police have identified the driver as 65-year-old Michael Disney Sr.

It happened on eastbound I-74 at Acton Road, on the far southeast side of the city, around 10:30 a.m. One lane of the interstate was temporarily closed as emergency crews responded.

After arriving on scene, a semi trailer was discovered in a ditch was engulfed in flames. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames, but the driver of the truck was not located at the time.

The driver’s body was soon then found deceased in a substantial amount of wreckage.
