8-year-old leading Indy peace march Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An 8-year-old boy is wanting to do his part to help spread peace and stop violence in his neighborhood.

Reese Hamilton organized a peace march.

His football teammates and other people in the community will join him during the march Saturday.

Hamilton says he’s tired of the violence in neighborhoods and knew he had to do something to stop it.

“I saw all this crime tape and one of my family members died,” Hamilton said. “I just wanted to stop the violence because I was so sad and it just didn’t feel right.”

The march starts at 9 a.m. at 30th Street and Gladstone Avenue.

It’s open to everyone.
