Tippecanoe Co. traffic stop leads to drug arrest
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – One person is behind bars following a traffic stop in Tippecanoe County Friday morning.
According to the Indiana State Police, a 2008 Dodge Magnum was stopped on I-65 for following too closely.
After pulling the vehicle over, the officer noticed signs indicating criminal activity. At that time passenger, 30-year-old Lamont Outlay, was removed from the vehicle.
Officers then patted the suspect down and discovered what was thought to be a kilo of heroin, which has a suspected value of $50,000.
Outlay was arrested and then transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. Outlay faces preliminary charges of dealing a schedule 1 substance, possession of a schedule 1 substance and visiting a common nuisance.
