(WISH) – Wednesday is National Pumpkin Day.
The gourd is a familiar sight in and outside of homes in October. It’s a recognized symbol of autumn.
The pumpkin has made its way to traditionally being served on the dinner tables for Thanksgiving.
The gourd is native to North America.
The oldest evidence of pumpkin-related seeds were found in Mexico, dating back to somewhere between 7000 and 5500 BC.
