Major IMPD sweep results in almost 200 arrests, more than $49k seized

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IMPD officials are gave an update Thursday afternoon on a major sweep that they initiated this week.

The announcement included October narcotics and enforcement sweep results.

Here are some of the results from the sweep:

  • 194 arrests for misdemeanors and other felonies
  • $49,333 seized
  • 27 firearms seized
  • 317 grams of meth
  • 17.5 grams of cocaine
  • 65.1 grams of heroin
  • 6972 grams of marijuana
  • 7 vehicles seized

Chief Troy Riggs said the sweep will continue into the weekend.

He said this sweep is not random, it is targeted and they are sending in social workers and offering social service help to the people in the homes.
